Wynnewood Swim club:

Take 695 toward Glen Burnie. Take exit 12-A, Southwestern Blvd – Arbutus. At end of exit ramp, stay to the left and merge onto Southwestern Blvd. Just after the right lane ends, make a right onto Tom Day Blvd. (just before Shuffles Saloon). At end of Tom Day, turn left onto Carvel – careful, this is a divided street! At the stop sign at the end of Carvel, make a right onto Francis Ave. Make the first left after the 7-11 at the Arbutus Baptist Church onto Oakland Rd. Look for Heron Drive on the right – beware of the new speed bumps – the pool driveway is on your left directly across from Heron Drive. There is additional parking further down Oakland Rd. on the left.

What Happens at the Novice Meet?

Our team will congregate on the area adjacent to the pool. Park in the back parking lot. You will not need a tent, but you will need chairs and a blanket or Neat Sheet to sit on. The Wynnewood pool serves hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade french fries, drinks, and desserts. You can purchase t-shirts at this meet.

The Novice Meet runs late. Coach Jill will hand out medals and ribbons at the conclusion of the meet. Heat winners for each heat will win a rubber playground ball. Your child's name will be written on the ball.

Just bring a dish that will feed 8 to 12 people, so we have enough food for everyone. In case you were wondering we have a little over 100 famlies and 195 swimmers to feed. :)

There are a few open spots - Timers for 2nd half in lanes 5 and 8 I believe, and concessions could use a few hands. If you are interested in filling in on those spots please email - Kay B., C2swim@verizon.net or Mary Pat, marypatjordan@aol.com as soon as possible. Thanks for volunteering!

Concessions Explained

Concession Responsibilities for each Swim Team family:

Each family is responsible for donating the following:

1. 1 case (24 cans) of soda or 1 case (24 bottles) of spring water or an 8-pack of sports drinks due before first meet (June 20) -- see donation list on Swim Team bulletin board.

All drink donations are collected prior to the first meet (June 20) for the entire swim season and kept in the storage room. These drinks are sold at the meet and used for swim team parties during and at the conclusion of the season.

2. Families must donate one food item per home meet due the night before the meet or the morning of the meet if perishable. There are three home meets -- June 20, July 3, and July 18. See food item donation list on Swim Team bulletin board.

If your child is not swimming in the meet, it is recommended that you sign up to bring non-perishable items that may be left with the concessions manager prior to the meet.

Since the snack bar requires much assistance in order to run smoothly, any help is appreciated. A helping hand (even from adults who are not signed up for concessions) is extremely helpful while the snack bar is being set up (prior to the meet) and during clean-up (at the conclusion of the meet).
