Why Is There a Wahoos Blog and Other Questions?
Why is there a Wahoos blog? I was asked by the swim team committee to join as the Communications person. I see my role as the distributor of information to the Wahoos swimmers and parents. As I was thinking about what I would do to make it easier for parents to find out about swim team events, the first thing that came to mind was creating a blog. There is a link on West_Howard_website for this blog. Important swim team information will continue to be e-mailed to parents and posted to the swim team bulletin board.
My definition of a blog is part information and part fun. I will post about swim meets, pep rallies, swim team apparel, calls for volunteers, but I will also add photos of swimmers. If you would like to add something to the blog (a story, an article, etc.) or have a suggestion for its improvement, please e-mail me at JillAnneBerry@msn.com
Two parents have offered to be the swim team blog photographers.
Rita Wolfe, mom to a veteran swimmer, has been taking photos of swim meets and other team events since last season. Rita single-handedly produced the school yearbook at a local elementary school -- the yearbook was awesome. If you missed having the pool photographers take a photo of your family on team picture day, Rita would be happy to take your family photograph -- e-mail her at ritawolfe@aol.com.
Stacey Stolba, mom to a new swimmer, has taken many photographs of swimmers at meets. Stacey created a photo frame collage and a scrapbook for the kindergarten teacher at a local elementary school. The scrapbook was beautiful.
Here are some questions that I would like answers to:
When was the first season of West Howard swimming?
Was the team always the "Wahoos"?
Why was the team named the "Wahoos"?
How many swimmers on the first swim team?
Who is the belly flop guy/gal this season?
How many seniors will graduate from the Wahoos swim team this year?
How long has Coach Jill coached?
Swim team parents...What is your favorite volunteer job on meet day and why?
Swim team parents, swimmers, and guests...What is your favorite West Howard food item and why?
If you know the answer to any of these questions, e-mail me at JillAnneBerry@msn.com. I will post answers to the questions on the blog.
If you know the answer e-mail me
